Federal Trade Commission v BCO Consulting Services Inc, Brandon Clores, and Kishan Bhakta
The following describes a government action that has been resolved by either a settlement or a decision by a court or administrative agency. If the matter is being appealed, it will be noted below.
On October 5, 2023, BCO Consulting Services, Brandon Clores, and Kishan Bhakta entered into a Stipulation to Entry of Proposed Stipulated Oder for Permanent Injunction, Monetary Relief, and Other Relief with the Federal Trade Commission. The Stipulation to Entry of Proposed Stipulated Oder for Permanent Injunction, Monetary Relief, and Other Relief settles allegations that the business violated federal law with deceptive representations, advance fees for debt relief services, material debt relief misrepresentations, and the use of false, fictitious, or fraudulent statements to obtain or attempt to obtain customers’ information of a financial institution. Under the terms of the Stipulation to Entry of Stipulated Oder for Permanent Injunction, Monetary Relief, and Other Relief the business is banned from secured and unsecured debt relief products and services, banned from telemarketing, prohibited from misrepresentations relating to any products or services, prohibited from unsubstantiated claims, prohibited against obtaining customer information by false pretenses. It is further ordered that BCO Consulting Services Inc, Brandon Clores, and Kishan Bhakta must jointly and severally pay $5,882,072.04, as monetary relief.
