Alert 1

BBB received a Scam Tracker report about an employment offer from Tuckerfield Logistics Services ended with some cryptocurrency transaction request. The consumers alleged that they received an unsolicited email with a job offer. They never applied for this company for employment. After a brief interview, Tuckerfield Logistics Services hired the victim.. The company contacted the victim again with the request of opening a bank account and receiving funds between $100-$3000 and then taking that money to buy some cryptocurrency for the employer. The victim  found the procedures and requests suspicious and decided to report to BBB’s Scam Tracker.

BBB also reached out to the business with letters on November 8, 2021 and  November 30, 2021 to confirm details about their business location, competency licence and hiring process. BBB also searched the database of the City of Vancouver on November 8, 2021 to verify if there is a business licence connected to the company’s listed address. However, the City does not have any records for this address.

As of January 7, 2022, BBB has not received a response from Tuckerfield Logistics Services. The website for the company, https://tuckerlogist.com/ is still active.

BBB is recommending the following tips to jobseekers who receive unsolicited communication about a job offer from an unknown company:

  • Always be wary of work-from-home or secret shopper positions, or any job with a generic title such as caregiver, administrative assistant, or customer service rep. Scammers are notorious for using positions that don't require special training or licensing to attract potential applicants.
  • You may be an excellent candidate for the job, but beware of offers made without an interview. A real company will want to talk to a candidate before hiring.
  • Don't fall for an overpayment scam. No legitimate job would ever overpay an employee and ask for money to be wired elsewhere.
