In the month of March 2024, BBB investigated Summit Paving's business practices. This investigation was prompted by a large volume of complaints, consumer inquiries, customer reviews, and on our scam tracker reports.
A consumer contracted the company and "paid $5,500 for a new driveway and drain cover". They reported that the work was unfinished and the company did not come back to complete the contracted work.
Another consumer reportedly paid $9,000 for paving work that was not done properly. It was reported that water was pooling, the ground was unlevelled, and the crew did not clean up after work was done. The consumer was told the crew would return to level it. An appointment was made that someone would come out but no one came and the consumer was then told that "it would be better once the weather got warmer." Follow up calls were made to the company but "no one answers the calls or text messages".
Another consumer reported that work was arranged to be performed to do their driveway but it was not done to satisfaction. The consumer asked the company to come back but no one came back to fix the issues and did not hear back from anyone.
Another consumer reported after giving the full payment, the work began but "left the asphalt work unfinished". Again the consumer contacted the company by phone and left voicemails, but they did not return the calls and "left with money and work not completed".
As of April 19, 2024 BBB has exhausted all forms of contact to the business. All phone numbers, websites, and emails are disconnected. Consumers with outstanding concerns are still encouraged to file a complaint for BBB records but may also wish to contact legal counsel and/or alert local authorities and report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
